Schoolhouse Desk with Chalkboard Details

post by katie

Well last week was back to school at our house, so I thought it an appropriate time to post about a desk I recently finished.  I got it at a garage sale over the summer, and decided it had to be red.  I've been making alot of chalkboard labels lately so it made me think a little red desk must have some chalkboard details.

At first I was just going to add the large one on the top for jotting down little notes,

but I thought the top drawer needed something too, so I added one there

then decided to paint the plain little knobs that came on it with chalkboard paint and add numbers.

Here it is before...

and after...

What do you think...perfect for a classroom, or homework station right?
It's at the Cottage now.

We're having our big anniversary celebration this weekend.  Everything will be on sale, come by and have some cider while you shop.

Thanks for stoppin'

Hi Faye, I want to nominate you for the Liebster Award. You are probably asking what a Liebster Award is? It is a blogger to blogger award. Its a way of encouraging smaller blogs. When you receive it you have to nominate 11 bloggers with less than 200 Followers
Come on over to http://churchstreetdesigns.blogspot.com/2013/09/liebster-award.html ,
there are some questions to answer and then you can put the badge on a post and nominate people too!

Amazing transformation! Would love to know how you got the chalkboard design on the top of the desk?

Thanks everyone, for your comments. Lisa we have our local paint store(Miller Paint) mix it for us, but I'm sure I could have Home Depot give it a number. As for the chalkboard designs I used chalkboard vinyl and cut it with my Cricut.
